After the Verizon Samsung Galaxy J7 (2nd Gen.), Galaxy J7 V (2nd Gen.), and others, the April 2021 Security Patch update has started hitting the Galaxy J3 (3rd Gen.) and Galaxy J3 V (3rd Gen.) smartphones. The new update for the Galaxy J3 (3rd Gen.) holds the firmware version PPR1.180610.011.J337VPPVRS9BUC1, and the Galaxy J3 V (3rd Gen.) is receiving the update on the build number PPR1.180610.011.J337VVRS9BUC1.
The changelog of the update states that the current software update provides the most up to date Android security patches on your device. So, apart from the latest April 2021 Security Patch, there’s nothing available in this new update. In general, the security updates usually include bug fixes, enhancements, improvements, etc.
As always, the company is pushing the updates in a phased manner as it needs to get verified. So, it generally takes a couple of days to reach all the units. However, users will be notified automatically when the update arrives on their device. To manually check the update status, head over to Settings>Software updadates>Check for the updates.
