Today, Samsung has spun new updates to the Galaxy A52, Galaxy M20, and others. And now the Galaxy Note 20 Series have started picking a new update with the July 2021 Security Patch inside it. The firmwares can be identified on the software versions N981BXXS2DUF1 & N986BXXU2DUF8, and as of now, it’s limited only to German users.
The changelog of the Galaxy Note 20’s update remains a mystery at the moment. Nonetheless, similar to the other recent July updates, it might also incorporate bug fixes for user-reported issues, improvements to the camera & call quality and a few other minor changes. Besides these, we can’t expect much more from a regular monthly security patch. Whereas the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra’s new update includes only the latest security patch.
The Galaxy Note 20 Series users from Germany will receive a notification automatically when the update reaches their device. Alternatively, the firmware can also be check manually by making a beeline to Settings>Software updates and check for the updates. If you spot any new update there, flash it to undergo the new security patch.
Note: As the updates need to be verified, they follow the phase-wise rollout, and it will reach all the units within a few days or sometimes a week.
